Do you believe in superheroes?

I always struggle with cards for the men in my life, but this time, Super Hero Edwin came to the rescue!

Over at Paper Sundaes this week, we have a really fun (for me, at least!) challenge.  Our sponsor this week is Stamp and Create, and to celebrate the fact that Lacey is now carrying Magnolia stamps, we have set our theme as 'Magnolia'!

I've coloured him to match these fun 'Creative Imaginations' papers.  I carefully cut all those layers of paper to match the super hero emblem on the papers, cutting the paper down to fit my card base.

I've kept the inside equally clean and simple.  I thought this sentiment was perfect for Super Edwin!

I hope you'll pull out your Magnolia stamps, and come play along with us this week at Paper Sundaes!

Challenges:
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Happy Birthday
Emerald Faeries - Birthday
Craft Us Crazy - Anything Goes
Tip Top Tuesday - Masculine card
Stamps R Us - Anything Goes
Totally Gorjuss - As You Like It

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Back To School

Cool Edwin is heading back to school, just like my kids!

I couldn't let the occasion of my son starting High School pass without creating a card for him.  As I started my quest to make something that a 15 year old boy would approve of, I came to realize that I have a true lack of 'back to school' stamps!  Then 'Cool Edwin' came to the rescue.  Not too cutesy or over the top... perfect for a 15 year old boy!

I did the sentiment on Word, using my 'Century' font and lined it up on this matching paper very carefully.  I used a nesties label to cut out the sentiment after printing.

Good luck in High School, Matt!  Your amazing work ethic and attitude will take you far!  :)

7 Kids College Fund - Back To School
Paper Play Challenges - Back to School
Tip Top Tuesday - masculine
Challenge up Your Life - For a man

Fresh baked or half baked?

I couldn't resist the MFT sketch this week, and just had to play along with more of my yummy new My Mind's Eye papers.

I thought that this stamp, 'What's Cooking' from MFT was very appropriate, considering my love of baking.  If only I didn't love it quite so much!  Last night we tried a new recipe for an old standard, and it was yummy.  Gooey chocolatey puffed wheat squares... mmm, did they go fast!

I mixed and matched a whole bunch of MFT goodness here.  The sentiment is from MFT's Pure Innocence:  Lollypop.  I've also used 3 of their die-namics including the Notebook Edge, Pretty Posies,  and the leaf from their Flower and Leaf Trio.

Now I am off to bed, High School registration tomorrow for my oldest!  How exciting!

Challenges:
Stamps R Us - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Die Cuts
Outlawz Challenge - Greetings - Anything Goes
Pile It On - Sweet Treats

One more week...

One more week of summer vacation, where did the time go?  I expect that a week from now, we will be in for a sleepless night, as my oldest enters high school, yikes!  I'll probably be more stressed than he will.  LOL

This week at Paper Sundaes, we have the return of my favorite challenge, our Sundae Bar!  This week's Sundae toppings are green, buttons, banners and twine, and our sponsor this week is the always generous Simon Says Stamp!  For my Sundae toppings, I've opted for banner and twine, and combined them both.

This cutie is Congratulations Tilda, from the Magnolia 'You're So Special' collection.  I've paired her up with My Mind's Eye 'Hip Hooray' papers, some Divine Twine, and a ribbon from my stash.

Hopefully you can see the twinkle of glitter along the hem of her skirt and frill of her top from my Spica glitter pen!

Challenges:
Simply Magnolia - sketch (flipped on it's side)

I hope you'll come play along with us at Paper Sundaes this week!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sweet Thanks

I just couldn't resist playing with another of my new Pure Innocence girls from MFT today!  This one is called 'Fresh From the Oven'.  I've paired her up with some brand new papers from My Mind's Eye's 'Lost and Found 2' collection.  As soon as I saw it, I couldn't resist this beautiful yellow paired with my favourite colour, aqua!  The sketch is from MFT's Splitcoast challenge.

I've added in some slightly wonky stitching.  Maybe if I behave, Santa will bring me a new sewing machine for Christmas.  I'm sure it's my sewing machine's fault that I can't sew in a straight line :)  Or circular either lol... I tried stitching around the sentiment 3 times and then gave up as they were all ridiculously sewn.

I just love to paper piece these cuties, so I couldn't resist doing her apron.

Challenges:
Papertake Weekly - bingo: pearls, ribbon, free (paper piecing)
Do You Stack Up - thank you
Ribbon Girls - ribbon
Stamp Something - thank you
The Pink Elephant - stitching
Tip Top Tuesday - Thank You

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Walking on Sunshine

Well, apparently I need to type quickly tonight!  My wireless keyboard has decided to quit, and my little backup keyboard is low on batteries!  Don't you love technology?  lol

Earlier this week I was trying to figure out who to colour next when I came across this Happy Spring Tilda, who I very rarely see used out in blog land for some reason.  Since she was feeling neglected, I thought that was a good excuse to use her in a card :)

Oh, that looks a bit blurry now that it's uploaded, my apologies!  It didn't look blurry at all in Photoshop.  Not sure what happened there.  I've stippled on the clouds, and used my copics for the grass.  I've actually used a bit of Spica pen on her hair, hopefully you can catch a bit of it in the close-up:

The flower die is from MFT.  The sentiment is computer generated, and the papers are My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose.  Everything else is from the endless stash :)

Challenges:
Cupcake Craft Challenges - sketch
Beary Scrap - Tic Tac Toe (Paper piecing, flower, glitter - gems)
Bearly Mine - bling (gems and spica)
Papertake Weekly - Bingo (flowers, free [paper piecing], lace)
Truly Scrumptious - Lace

The Pixie Cottage - Birthdays
Bling It On - ABC (aqua, bling, clouds)
Emerald Faeries - birthday

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you're warmer than we are, I may have to turn on the furnace!

Just because...

This week at Paper Sundaes, our challenge is 'Just Saying Hi', and our sponsor is the super cute stamp company, Pink Cat Studio!  I used their adorable Strawberry Lily and paired her up with some bright and fruity colours.

I kept the design pretty simple, with some Divine Twine in the button, and some Diamond Glaze on her glossy lollipop.  You can really see the shine from a bit of an angle to catch the light.

I've sponged on the clouds and grass with Distress Inks.  I'm not happy with the grass; I don't think I'll try that again!  Live and learn :)

Challenges:
Stampavie and More - Card for a Girl
Totally Papercrafts - Food & Drink
Crafty Calendar - Hot Colours
Cute Card Thursday - Clean & Simple

Hugs,

Back from vacation, mmm the memories

We are back from our vacation in the Okanagan :(  If only we could have stayed longer!  We had so much fun though, and made lots of memories!  We rented a Seadoo one afternoon, picked blueberries, visited a goat farm and sampled lots of goat cheeses... visited Mission Hill Winery (wow - the views!!) and devoured lots of fresh fruit from local farmer's markets during our 3 and a half days there.  The weather was so beautiful the entire time we were there, too!  32C every day... just perfect for hanging out at the beach!  The only downside was the 11 hour car ride each way :O  I'm hoping to have some photos to share over the next week as we get them all uploaded and edited.

Now that I'm back, I wanted to get back into the creative groove, so I made some time today to play :)  I just had to use this adorable 'Make Mine a Double' Pure Innocence girl from MFT.  I nabbed her during a recent sale at All That Scraps for just $6!!  Considering how much I love the Pure Innocence stamps, I couldn't resist buying a few more.  She is coloured with my copic markers, of course :)

I've paired her up with a couple of MFT dies (Button Quartet and Flower Trio).  I did the sentiment on my computer in purple ink.  The scallop along the bottom was from a Martha Stewart border punch.

Now I am off to tackle our holiday laundry... aren't I lucky?  I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful August!

Challenges:
All That Scraps - Paper Buttons
Papertake Weekly - Grow Your Own
Stampavie and More - Card for a Girl

Butterfly Tilda flying by

Sorry I haven't been around much this week, I think we're finally in summer vacation mode here!  I did manage to finish this card I started last week, in the middle of re-organizing my craft room, and cleaning the whole house!

I'm still practicing colouring folds, it's an on-going endeavour :)  I've used some Dazzling Diamonds on the trim of her dress, and Diamond Glaze on her shoes, as you can see in the close-up!

The papers are from Echo Park's Country Drive line.  The butterfly is a die from My Favorite Things.

I think I'll be taking a blogging vacation for the next week to spend some fun summer time with my kids, so if I'm not around, don't be surprised!  :)

Pink Ink Sketch Challenges - sketch
All That Scraps Wednesday's Challenge - Anything Goes
