LOTV sketch card

After a week with no posting, I thought I should whip something up.  When I saw the new sketch at Lili of the Valley, it went perfectly with a project I had started a few months ago and never got finished.  I dug out all of the already cut pieces and coloured Dandelion Clock, and it all matched perfectly, how lucky was that?  A ribbon, some flowers, glue and some fun with my airbrush, and away I went.

I've perhaps gone a bit overboard with the airbrushing LOL

Thanks to everyone who left me get well wishes!  I am almost all better now, just having an issue with my asthma now.  Luckily my dr said that I was clear to go to the Intermediate Copic class on Saturday, and it was lots of fun!  I would have been devastated if I'd had to miss it.  This was the first one offered in all of Canada!

Next week we are heading 6 hours north and chaperoning and feeding 40 teenage athletes, that should be fun!  So this week, I will be food planning, shopping, prepping etc!  I wonder how much food 40 teenage swimmers will eat over a 5 day span?  I'm guessing, A LOT!!!

sick, sick, sick!

Did anyone get the licence plate number of that bus that ran me over?!  I guess it's not surprising with all of our busy weekends away that I have succumbed to a nasty virus, just in time for our Copic intermediate certification this weekend.  I have been stuffing myself with vitamins and healthy foods in hopes of getting over this, so I don't end up flat on the table lol...

As a result, I am very, very late with my Paper Sundaes card this week!  Our Paper Sundae Girls picked the theme this week, and they have opted for 'Girly Girl', which is perfect for our sponsor, My Favorite Things!

I'm hoping this adorable a la mode girl with my floral paper and pretty pink bow will cover the 'Girly' aspect!

Challenges:
Card Positioning Systems - sketch
Copic Creations - doodling
Sweet Stampin' - Food

Now I am off to rest and recover, thanks for stopping by!  Stay healthy!  :)

Tilda with Cherries for a Guest DT spot!

I am so excited that this week, I won the chance to guest design for Simply Magnolia!  Since Magnolia is  one of my favorite stamp lines, how could I resist?  Their challenge this week is a fantastic sketch, which totally suits my card style.

This cutie is Tilda with Cherries from last year.  I've pulled out my airbrush to give her the antique'd background.  I've used red for the second time this week.  I actually enjoy colouring with them, does that make me strange?

I wanted to add a small tag and decided to use a die that works in the Crop-a-dile.  Apparently their dies don't punch well... my thanks to the kind lady at my LSS that managed to get it punched enough of the way through that I could finish it off with my scissors!

The flowers are all Wild Orchid.  I've also used some seam binding and a heart die from My Favorite Things.

Copic colours:
skin - E0000, 000, 00, 11, W0, 00
hair, shoes - E30, 21, 23, 25, 27
dress etc - R20, 22, 24, 27, 29, W1, W3
basket - E21, W3

Of course, I'm going to enter this into some challenges:
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Anything Goes
Magnolia Mania - Floral
TOMIC - Happy Birthday
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Here Comes Summer
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Partytime Tuesdays - Summer Birthdays

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Getting Sentimental with Paper Sundaes

This week at Paper Sundaes, our theme is to 'Get Sentimental'.  For my card today, I've paired up Maid Charlotte with a sentiment from one of my favorite sets, Magical Wishes.

I've paired her up with some Wild Orchid Flowers, May Arts ribbon, Bo Bunny papers, and my Spellbinders (labels 18 & ovals)

She is coloured with my copics.  I didn't write down the colours this time, but the top is YR0000, 000, 00 I believe, and the skirt is E40's.  The greenery is YG60's.

Challenges:
Whiff of Joy - sketch

Die Storage

***Don't forget to enter my blog candy while you're here!***

I've been meaning to do a post on my metal die storage ever since I did my rubber stamp storage post way back in November.  It's really ironic that when I wrote that post we were having miserable weather, and six months later, we're still having miserable weather!  LOL... I must have jinxed us by putting away our winter coats last week.  Now it's cold and raining, and they were calling for snow last night (but if we got any, it melted before I got up, thank goodness!).

I like to have all of my main supplies portable, so that it's easier to go to crops or playdates at the LSS.  I also hate to risk losing my dies, so I came up with the idea to store my dies in a zip up cd carry case with metal inserts in the cd slots.

Everything gets zipped up nice and tight, and it's so portable!  Most of the dies fit in just perfectly.

A few of my longer ones I have put on longer magnetic sheets, and they just overlap a bit at the top.

I bought the magnet in a large sheet from Dick Blick, but I'm sure you could find it somewhere locally too.  I just drew lines on the back to the size I needed for my pockets, leaving a couple longer for the long dies.  My rubber scissors cut through it perfectly.

I can actually fit two sets each of my MFT metal die cut sets in each pocket.  I have all of my longer border dies put on one sheet side by side.

I hope you like my die storage!

                         Christine

I wish I looked like this in a swim suit!

I just love Kraftin' Kimmie's Moonlight Whispers stamps, they are way too cute, and so much fun to colour!  I had a chance to play with Eleanor last night, and used one of my favorite new paper lines, Lime Twist by My Mind's Eye.

I added some sand around her feet, and forced myself to go to my LSS to get some ribbon to match :) :)  It was a hardship LOL

dress: BG000, 000, 53, T0, T1, RV000, 63, 66

Christmas Angel Tilda

Well, I have fallen a bit behind in my goal of making at least one Christmas card every month to get ahead this year!  But today I did knock one more off, and I'm hoping to get a few more done over the summer... I'll be watching for all the 'Christmas in July' challenges, that's for sure!

For my card today, I've used Flying Angel Tilda and some old Bo Bunny glitter papers from 2009!

I've also used some ribbon and lace from my stash.  The sentiment is from a CC Designs sentiment set.

Challenges:
Sketch Saturday - sketch
Winter Wonderland - Blue & White
Bunny Zoe's Challenge - lace
Stamp Something - Sentimental
Flutterby Wednesdays - open
Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes
Allsorts challenge - Things with Wings
All That Scraps Wednesday's Challenge - Anything Goes
Hanna & Friends - Blue & White

Now I need to run and chase two children to bed!  You would think after getting up at 5 AM, and having 4 hours of intense practice, they would want to go to bed!

                Hugs,
                         Christine
