Dessert time!

Happy Easter!

I will be keeping this post very short this morning, as I need to get a few hours of sleep before the kids wake me up for Easter morning, yikes!

At Paper Sundaes this week, we have my favorite challenge, our Sundae Bar!  So grab at least two of our featured toppings this week, and come play along.  Our sponsor this week is Stamp and Create, and they are providing this week's winner with a fantastic prize.

I have used three of our toppings this week:  Yellow, Glitter & Pearls.  In honour of Earth Day recently, I used two different recycled ribbons.  The wide one came off a gift basket my daughter received a couple of weeks ago, and the narrow one was actually from the inside of a shirt I had purchased, used to keep it on the hanger.  How's that for resourceful?  :)

I apologize for the deep shadow on this, my light bulb is burning out and is very dim tonight!

I've used Olivia from The Greeting Farm's Oliver & Olivia My Favorite Thing set, stamped on my favorite paper by Papertrey Ink.

Copic Colours (from memory)
Skin, hair - E000, 00, 93, E30, 31, 33, 35, chalk
Dress, shoes - BG00, 01, 05, 07, 09

Grab your sunglasses!

Warning, bright photos ahead!  :)

This week I was playing around with some bright colour combos, definitely a break from my norm!  I think it's a self-defense mechanism... trying to convince myself that summer really is coming, even though there is still snow on the ground!  LOL

I've combined Tilda With Straw Hat by Magnolia, with some older Echo Park Papers, from their Sweet Summertime line.  The pink mid-layer is embossed with a Spellbinders embossing plate.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things' Pure Innocence - My Basket of Eggs.
Copic colors:
Skin - E000, 00, 97
Hair, shoes - E30, 31, 33, 35
Dress - YG01, 03
Hat, flower - RV32, 34
Shading - W00, 0, 1

I've used my favourite paper, Papertrey Ink's Stamper's Select White.  Luckily, my parents just brought me back 8 more packages, which will have to get me through until next April, when they get to do it again!  (They're used to it, this wasn't the first time!  lol)

Calgary Copic Intermediate Certification

I just found out this morning that I'm in!  I'm so excited!

I haven't been posting much this week, as I've been busy away from the computer and also not feeling great.  I think springtime allergies are kicking in... on the upside, that should mean that spring is on the way?  Melt, snow, melt!  I'm hoping to get back into gear and have something posted for tomorrow!

Mo's Strawberry Girl

This week at Paper Sundaes, our team was challenged with the theme of 'Childhood Memories'.  One of my best memories of family time, both growing up and with my own children, is the joy of picking strawberries fresh from the field.  Nothing tastes as good as a sun-warmed, freshly picked strawberry, does it?!  This Strawberry Girl by Mo's Digital Pencil, our sponsor this week, jumped right out at me.

Isn't this Imaginisce paper delish too?  Yum, I couldn't resist it!  I've paired it up with an assortment of Wild Orchid flowers, and some ribbon and bling from the 'stash' :)

Copics used:
Skin: E000, 00, 93
Hair:  E21, 25, 27, 29
Dress, flipflops:  Y00, 11, 13, 15, 17
Strawberries & Flowers:  R01, 22, 24, 27
Greenery:  YG0000, G20, G94
Shadow:  B0000

I am very late getting my card posted this week, sorry about that!  My kids had the opportunity to train with an Olympian this weekend, and we had to take it!  How often do you get the chance to have that experience?!  I know they enjoyed meeting him, getting an autograph, and training with him.  Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos, oops!

Challenges:
Moving Along With The Times:  sketch
Mo's Digital Challenge:  How does your garden grow?
One Crazy Stamper:  Flowers
Tuesday Throwdown:  Sparkle & Bling
Flourishes:  Flowers, flowers everywhere
Crafts & Me:  ribbons
Lollipop Crafts:  All Girl

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Tilda in Rubber Boots

Just a quick post today!  I coloured up this adorable Tilda in Rubber Boots last week and she has been sitting around feeling neglected, so I whipped up a clean and simple card with her last night.

I've used my copic airbrush to make the sky background.  Sorry about the glare!  You can see it a bit better in the closeup:

The paper is from Echo Park's Little Girl line.  The green cardstock is actually white GinaK, coloured with YG01 to match my girl.  The punched leaves were also coloured with my copics to match her dress and the grass.

Challenges:
Midnight Madness sketch MMSC98
Just Magnolia - Anything Goes
Copic Creations - Favorite Copic Technique (airbrushing backgrounds)
Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Spring Colors
Creative Inspirations - Punches (leaves) and dies (Spellbinders label)
One Crazy Stamper - April Flowers
iCopic Challenge - color a fancy background

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Picnic Time for Teddy Bears

This week at Paper Sundaes, our challenge for you is 'Spring Blossoms', and our sponsor is one of my favorite stamp companies, Lili of the Valley!

As soon as I saw the latest release at Lili of the Valley, I fell in love with this particular stamp called Teddy Bears Picnic.  It has a special meaning to me.  When my daughter was little, she absolutely loved the Teddy Bear's Picnic, and so I would sing her the song when she was upset or having trouble falling asleep.  In fact, it was (and still is) the only song she'll let me sing without yelling at me to 'Stop singing!' LOL... I guess that's a testament to my wonderful singing voice?  To this day though, she still enjoys me singing this to her occasionally at bedtime!

I've paired this darling stamp up with some Fancy Pants paper from my stash, Wild Orchid Flowers, and the end of one of my favorite ribbons from my stash!  It has a wonderful pattern and a touch of glitter that doesn't show up very well in this photo.

I hope you will come play along with us this week at Paper Sundaes!

By The Cute & Girly - Cute & Girly
Lili of the Valley - Spring
The Rubber Cafe Challenge - Spring Flowers

An Easter Tilda in Teal and Brown

A few weeks back I coloured up this Tilda with Eggs in her Apron with my favourite copic colour, anything BG.  It turned out a bit darker than I wanted, but then I found these older October Afternoon 'County Fair' papers and thought they were a perfect match.  I know it's not a typical colour combo for Easter or spring, but hopefully it doesn't seem too strange!  lol

I've used my copic markers to colour my flowers to match.  The white cherry blossom is from Wild Orchid, and I've used my Copic BG10 to edge it.  The smaller flat flowers were both white Prima's.

I thought that the sketch at Simon Says Stamp was perfect for these papers!

Now I hate to admit how old I am, but I have a big birthday coming up, so keep an eye out here for a blog candy, starting in about a week!  There's no use trying to hide from birthdays, right?  There's no other good option but to keep on having them!  LOL

Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp challenge - sketch
Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog - Easter
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Easter
Just Magnolia - Anything Goes
Let's Ink It Up - Easter Creations
Copic Creations - Favorite Copic Technique (colouring accessories to match)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
