Christmas in August

Over at Paper Sundaes we are starting another challenge sponsored by our wonderful monthly sponsor, Simon Says Stamp, and this week it is to make a Christmas card!  I have been feeling guilty over my neglected Hanglars, so I decided to ink up this beauty and dig out my distress inks!

I found that lace at our local scrapbook store today, and fell in love!  Next time I go back, I have to buy another meter or two!  The green ribbon is so much prettier in real life... you can see a tiny piece of it in the closeup that looks more like it does in real life!

It is actually sparkly and smooth, not grained the way it does in the first photo... the light just wouldn't stop reflecting off of the fine grain and making it look huge!

Products used:
Tim Holtz distress re-inkers
Making Memories DP
Nestabilities ovals and circles
Martha Stewart punch
Wild Orchid Roses

Challenges:
The Pixie Cottage challenge:  Sketch layout
7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog:  Strip it down
Totally Gorjuss:  Christmas
Magical Monday Challenge:  Flowers
Winter Wonderland:  All I want for Christmas
Creative Inspirations:  Christmas

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will play along with us at Paper Sundaes this week!

This is it!

I admit it, this is the card that sunk my mojo!  LOL... I managed to color the image, but then!  Nothing made me happy!  lol... today I finally decided that it had tormented me enough, and I just wanted to get the pain over with!  :p  Anyone else have those moments?  Please tell me I'm not alone!  So here is the end result:

The steps are a pale grey, with darker grey shading, but I see that only the darker actually shows, here!  You'll just have to take my word for it!  :)

Challenges:
Card Positioning Systems:  Sketch layout
Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenge:  Go Dotty
Mark's Finest Papers / Speedy the Cat's challenge:  Friendship
Alice in Wonderland:  Little Girl theme
Cupcake Crafts Challenge:  Blue and Green
Stamp with Fun:  For a girl
7 Kids College Fund:  Strip it Down
Lollipop Crafts Challenge:  Ribbons and Buttons

Lost: one Mojo! If found, please...

Send it my way!!

All week my mojo has been hiding out, tormenting me!  LOL... Now illness has invaded our house too, just in time for school.  Sure hope I can dodge it!

This is just a quick post, since it's 1 AM now!  While I was struggling to get cards put together this week, I did get a few images colored, and tonight managed to find a sketch that inspired me, and whipped this together!  :)

It is so fall-like here right now, that this image suited my mood perfectly!  Unfortunately, I can't remember this beautiful girl's name, but she is from Belles 'n Whistles, and seems to be out of stock right now!  The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

Challenges:
Paperminutes:  sketch layout
Belles 'n Whistles:  Everything Goes
Stamp and Create Challenge:  Flowers
Bunny Zoe's Crafts:  Vintage
Mark's Finest Papers:  A Friendship card
Magical Monday Challenge:  Flowers

Back to School!

Well, tomorrow is back to school day, so I have some kids in their beds who will not be sleeping well tonight!  It is so bittersweet when school goes back in!  After two months of everyone home, I'm ready for some peace and quiet, but I know that as soon as they are actually back, the house will seem so empty!  Plus, no slaves to walk the dog :p

In honor of back to school day tomorrow, I used Apple For You from the Pure Innocence Line at My Favorite Things.  Maybe it will ease my daughter's pain?  I doubt it?  LOL

I do have several challenges for this one:

I heart 2 stamp:  Sketch layout
Simon Says Stamp:  Paper Piecing
Simon Says Stamp at Papercraft Planet:  Back to School
ABC Design Blog:  Back To School
Paper Pretties:  Back to School

(That felt like a Staples ad!  lol)

Bumblebee Hansel Goes Trick or Treating!

This week at Paper Sundaes, Crystal came up with a wonderful sketch for us to play with.  Since our sponsor is Paper Jewels, I decided to use this cute stamp called Bumblebee Hansel.  I decided to make Hansel into a trick-or-treater, so I gave him a little trick or treat bag that I found online and manipulated with my Photoshop, then shaded it with my prismacolors.  Hansel himself is colored with copics.  I think this would be great on a Halloween scrapbook page, too... and I think that it would work for a girl's page too... it could be Gretel in the costume, don't you think?

I did alter the sketch a bit by making it into a rectangle instead of square, since the sentiment is on the bag :)

The papers are from the Little Sprout collection by Crate Paper, from my stash.

I hope you will come play along with us at Paper Sundaes this week!

Adding:  my team is looking for votes in the PWCO team challenge, we are the Sundae Sweeties, and you can vote here!

challenges:
7 Kids College Fund Challenge #2- Strip it down (max 2 layers of designer paper)
Meljen's Designs Challenge #21- Brown, teal and orange
Stamp Something-  Something Digi

A crafty night!

It must be Friday night!  Shana packed up all of her crafting stuff and made the trek to my house to come over for our weekly card-making session, but I haven't gotten much accomplished!  I did finish up this card with an image I had colored over the last few nights.  I actually combined 3 different mediums on this card, combining my copics with prismacolors and chalks.

I used one of my french-grey prismacolors to add some shading onto her clothes and hat, and my chalks for her blush.  This cute girl is Sweet & Sassy by Elisabeth Belle from Sugar Nellie.

Now I need to scoot off and go craft some more before I get in trouble :)

Challenges:
Sketch Saturday:  layout
Stampin' For the Weekend:  anything goes
Paperplay Challenges:  Pink!
Charisma Cardz:  Die Cuts

My turn in the PWCO team challenge! Yikes!

The challenge today at Paperworks Co team challenge was to use the animal in your stamp to provide the inspiration for your card.  I actually found this surprisingly difficult, since I apparently don't have a single thing for teddy bears and bunnies!  After some brainstorming, I settled on creating a tree for the background, and going with 'bear-like' colours!

I will edit this post in a bit to add the rest of the pictures of my zigzag card, first I need to feed the kids supper!  Thanks for stopping by!

Challenges:
Everybody Art Challenge:  In the Garden
Simon Says Stamp Challenge:  Summertime Blues
Cute Card Thursday:  Tree-mendous
Tuesday Throwdown:  More Than One Fold

Lovely Miss Anya and a team challenge!

This card has taken forever for me to get posted, bad me!  There are just so many distractions in the summer!  A trip to the mall ate away a good portion of our day.  We had fun with the kids though, and got a bit more of our back to school shopping done!  Lots still to go, Staples should be fun, next week!

While Shana was over last weekend, I stamped up this cute Anya stamp from her Miss Anya Love set!

The sentiment is from Paper Makeup, I believe!    Papers are Bo Bunny.  Miss Anya was colored with copics :)

Challenges:
7 Kids College Fun Challenge:  Pink and dots
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle:  sketch
Mark's Finest Papers:  Think Flowers

Also, over at Paperworks Co, there is currently a team challenge going on, right now!  Crystal, Danielle, Shana and I decided at literally the last second to play along!  Yesterday, Crystal created a beautiful card for the sketch portion of the challenge, you can see it on her blog here, or on Splitcoast here!  We will be begging for votes next week :D  In the mean time, stop by and leave her some love!

Thanks for stopping by!

Pretty in Pink

Good morning and happy Sunday!

Today marks the start of our 31st challenge over at Paper Sundaes.  This week we have a recipe challenge set by our team-mate Danielle.  The recipe is 4 flowers, 3 buttons and 2 patterned papers.  This one was a bit of a stretch for me, I don't usually use that many embellishments!  :)

Our sponsor this week is Meljen's, and she has provided each of our DT with a cute image to play with.  Mine is Joy, which you can find in the Whimsy store, the exclusive carrier of Meljen's digi stamps.

This image is called Joy, how appropriate!  :)  I used some yummy new papers from Echo Park from their 'Life is Good' line, I just love their papers!!

Picnic time for Teddy Bears

The little teddy bears are having a lovely time today...  (-Teddy Bear's Picnic song)

For my card today I have used Mimosa Birthday, it is one of my favorite Bildmalarna stamps!  The Teddy Bear's Picnic was my daughter's favorite book for years, so this song brings back great memories!  It is colored with copics and a bit of pencils.  I used my blender pen to give the bears some texture at the end.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid, I need to place another order next week!  Yum!

Challenges:
Moving Along With the Times:  Sketch layout
Wild Orchid:  One for the Girls
Craft Your Days Away:  Favorite Things (Copics)

Under the sea

Darling it's better, down where it's wetter, take it from me...

I'm trying to ink up a few more of my as-yet un-inked stamps, and this mermaid was calling my name!  Little Mermaid Tilda is from the Magnolia summer kit.

Hmm, the color did not seem that bad when I took the photo!  LOL  Maybe I will go redo it in the morning!

She is colored with copics, with chalks for her blushed cheeks.  The bubbles are done in Diamond Glaze.  Papers are SEI.

Challenges:
Paperworks Co Sunday Sketch

Creative Card Crew:  Cute and Girly
Craft Your Days Away:  Favorite Things (copics and Magnolia stamps!)

Party Emma Bookmark Card

Good morning!  Today I thought I would try to make something new to me, a card with a removable bookmark!  I know I've seen others do this before, and thought that I'd give it a shot :)

This image is the cutie, Party Emma, that came in my Sugarplums party set that I purchased a few months back from Jenny at Paper Jewels! This stamp set is such an incredible deal right now... only $11.90, can you believe it?!  It comes with Party Emma, Balloon Trevor and Balloon Emma!

I put a paper triangle on the back of the scallop that the edge of the page will slide into (see below) and then put a corresponding piece of paper onto the front of my card so that I would not have to glue this on.  This way, the recipient can simply slide the bookmark off :)

Challenges:
Tickled Pink Stamp monthly challenge:  sketch layout
All That Scraps:  die cuts
Challenge Up Your life:  Celebrations

Out of my norm!

Today I tried something that is quite different than my usual card.  I usually stick to images that I can color... this card has no coloring!

I used two different sets of my cousin's Close To My Heart stamp sets, she has loaned me all of her sets for a couple of months!  For my inspiration, I used this charm from Cathy Walter's etsy shop, from the current Etsy Inspired challenge!  It really appealed to me, the way the petals went off the edge, so that is what I went for here, too.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sitting on the dock of the bay

Watching the tide roll away...I'm just sitting on the dock of the bay, Wasting time... (c Otis Redding)

I've been trying to ink up some stamps that have been neglected, so today I decided to use this cute summer image called Mimosa Dock.  I tried to keep this one fairly simple, and stayed away from my Wild Orchid flowers since I seem to be using them a lot lately :)  Paper and pearls are Basic Grey.

Polka Doodle:  sketch layout
Simon Says Stamp challenge:  Summertime Blues
Totally Papercrafts:  By the sea
The Pink Elephant:  Summer Fun
Basic Grey Chalenges:  pearls

Going fishing!

This is the second of two cards that fell into the blechies fog today!  My poor Hanglar Stanglar stamps are feeling so neglected, after the extreme effort it took to get our hands on some!  So my guilt drove me to pull one out and ink it up :D

Water colouring is definitely my favorite way to colour HS stamps!  As you can see in the close-up, I definitely can NOT colour fish!  LOL- I guess I need to go fishing more often!

Challenges:
Sketch & Stash:  sketch layout & used my neglected HS stamps

Did you ever have one of those days?  A day that just gets lost in a fog?  Today was one of those days!!

I made this card last night and edited the photo this morning, but never managed to feel up to getting on the computer!  I am determined I am going to get it up though, so this post will be short!

This uses the super cute 'Me and My Cat' image from Lili of the Valley.  The 3 patterned papers are from a single 1/2 sheet of We 'R Memory Keepers.

Yummy new papers!

While I was visiting a local scrapbook store last week, I found some new papers that just called my name!  All three of the patterned papers in this card came from the same 1/2 sheet.  The yellow is on one side, the floral is from the other, and the heart strips are actually from the border where they put the paper name, on the back side!  No waste at all, gotta love it!!

The image is one of my favorite Pink Cat Studio images called Lily Hugging Flowers.  Lily is colored with copics.  The paper is Pebbles Tree House collection.  Ribbon is from my stash- love this ribbon, need to find it in a store again!!

Here's a close-up:

Metal-licious!

Good Morning!  This week at Paper Sundaes, our challenge is to create something with metal!  Since our sponsor this week is the wonderful and generous Stamp and Create, I wanted to use something from their shop, so I decided to make a card using this super cute Kraftin' Kimmie image named Charlotte.

I used some My Mind's Eye papers from their Quite Contrary series, and some metal out of my stash!

Lacey at Stamp and Create is also providing Paper Sundae readers with a 10% discount, check out our challenge post for all the details!  Thanks, Lacey!!

Making a splash!

I finally had time to craft after a crazy and hectic week!  Yay!  I decided to make a card with this adorable image from Pink Cat Studios called Lily in her Inner Tube.  I thought this card would be perfect for anyone going away on a vacation!

My dear friend Shana came over tonight and I colored up a storm, taking advantage of her large copic selection in addition to my own set.  Hopefully I can find some time to get them all made into cards this week!

Pure Innocence Birthday card

Technically, it's still Monday here, so my streak of daily posts continue!  :)

I'm going to keep today's post short and sweet!  I kept this card fairly clean and simple, to let this little girl shine!

I used the scraps left over from my zigzag card earlier in the week.   The stamp is called My Basket of Eggs, from My Favorite Things, and she is colored in copics.  I hid the eggs behind some flowersoft to make it into a birthday card instead of an easter card.

PSC29- Stitching with Belle

Today is the start of another weekly challenge at Paper Sundaes, and this week the DT was to make a card or paper project with stitching!

I'm not really happy with how my card turned out today, I may be doing some work on it later in the week to see if I can fix it a bit.  The paper that looks purple is actually more of a blue, by the way!  lol

For my card I used the super cute Cupcake by Belles 'n Whistles, the current sponsor at Paper Sundaes! If you'd like the chance to win her, be sure to play along!

Challenges:
Sketch and Stash:  layout
Wild Orchid:  lace

Have a great Sunday!
