Paper Sundaes Challenge #3

Today is the start of Paper Sundaes Challenge #3.  The challenge is Valentine's.  This week Paper Sundaes is sponsored by PaperWorks Co, who provided our design team with some super cute stamps from Little Loud Stamps' Freckle Love Collection.  I was very impressed with the quality of these stamps.  They come pre-mounted and pre-cut on cling mount, and are made of very deeply etched red rubber.  They stamp beautifully!  Each stamp also comes with a matching sentiment.

My card today features Charlotte's Valentine.  She is colored with copics that a friend kindly let me play with this week.  I feel a big purchase in my near future!  :)

I really wanted to keep this card clean and simple, with no embellishments.  My daughter did NOT approve, lol...

The 'Happy' stamp on the kraft paper is from The Scenic Route, that I had in my stash, uninked.  It was stamped with ColorBox liquid chalk.  Charlotte was cut out with the Petite Scallop Nestabilities, and the sentiment with the long scalloped rectangle.  PaperWorks Co is a Canadian company, so prices are CAD, however if you prefer to pay in USD you can contact Peggy and she can accomodate you.

Peggy has generously provided Paper Sundaes with a $25 gift certificate to the winner of our Valentine's challenge, so I hope you will join us!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly- sketch
Caardvarks- hearts
Fussy and Fancy- hearts
Lexi's Creations- Valentine's
Corrosive Challenges by Janet- All you need is love

Have a Magical Day!

This past weekend, an online friend, Jenny, came up to visit myself and a good friend of mine, Shana.  She brought with her, her massive collection of stamps!  It would have taken me a week to make a dent in stamping her collection!  I did stamp a few of her Sweet Pea stamps, including this one called 'It's My birthday'.  These stamps are gorgeous, and so different from anything I own!  I coloured her while visiting my friend Shana, using her copic markers.  This was only my second attempt using them, but I do like them!

The layout is from the current sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.  Hopefully on the closeup shot, you can see all of her glitter :)

I know that most people seem to color that piece by her face as an ear and hair, but I saw it as a piece of plant or seaweed :)

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Cute Card Thursday- Fairy Fantastic
Charisma Cardz- Fruity Colors
Raise the Bar Challenge- The gift that keeps giving (RAK image from Jenny)
Flutterby Wednesday #64- butterfly, fairy, or angel
A Spoon Full of Sugar- freestyle

Paper Sundaes Challenge #2

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  Today I have a card for the second Paper Sundaes Challenge.  It is a recipe challenge, to use brown, pink, lace and flowers.  Our sponsor this week is Ildi Co, and they are providing this week's winner with their choice of 4 Ildi Co digital stamps.  This card uses one of Ildi Co's images called Cuddles Kuma Picnic.  My daughter's favorite song when she was little was 'Teddy Bear's Picnic', so I just had to have this image!

I am entering this card into a couple of challenges.  The sketch layout is from the current challenge at Dutch Dare.  Over at Etsy Inspired, they are featuring Sweetie Pie Tutus this week, and I used this tutu for inspiration :)  Lastly, I am entering this into the 'Add Dimension' challenge over at Totally Gorjuss, for the dimension on my flower, which is separated between each layer with pop dots plus the spacer.

Here is a picture of the inside:

Materials used:

Weekly Christmas Card- Week 2

I am continuing on my quest to have my Christmas cards done early this year!  For my card today, I used an image I've had for a while, called A New Winter Friend, by Whipper Snapper.

The image is coloured with Koh-i-Noor's.  Paper is My Mind's Eye Colorful Christmas, and the sentiment is Pink Cat Studios.  The snowflakes are cut with Nestabilities Snowflake Wonder.  Over at All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog, the current challenge is Snowmen, ending today, so I am going to enter this there.  Thanks for stopping by!

Sugar Bowl Challenge 26

2nd post today, wow!  I finished this card just in time (well, it's been done for an hour, but I had to get it uploaded, edited etc!) to enter it into the current challenge over at the Sugar Bowl.

I used my new Tim Holtz distress inks again.  Papers are Crate Paper.  I would have liked to have stitched the papers but I still haven't figured out how to fix my sewing machine, so I had to settle for distressing the edges.  Oh well, c'est la vie!

Don't miss the Paper Sundaes blog hop post below today's posts!  There's a $25 gc at the end of it!

Motivet- week 1 challenge of 2010

I'm sticking to my resolution to tackle my Christmas cards earlier this year, so I managed to complete my first one for next year.  I used the current sketch challenge at Motivet's blog for the layout.

I forgot the letters at the top at first until after I had uploaded and edited my card, so here is the version without the sentiment at the top, too.

I think I prefer the no sentiment version, what do you think?

The colour inspiration came from this item at Skylar's Candy Clips, from the current Etsy Inspired challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!  If you haven't already checked it out, look at the post below for a chance to win some blog candy!

Welcome to the Paper Sundaes Blog Hop!

Hi!  Thanks for dropping by!  If you've come for the Paper Sundaes Blog Hop, you're in the right place!  I am the first stop on your tour of our design team.

I have 2 cards for you today!  The first uses a new Tilda from the Winter & Christmas 2009 kit.

Tilda's hand is cut out and paper pieced to hang from the ribbon.  She is coloured with Tim Holtz Distress inks, as are the paper flower and silk flower.  I just love this Valentine sentiment, you can find it at Magnolia-licious here!  The pink stripe paper is pleated.  If you want to see how to do this, check out the tutorial by Mina over at Just Magnolia!

I am entering this card into several challenges, including Just Magnolia (paper pleating), Embellish Magazine (Pink, Red & Black), Roses on Paper (favorite medium), Cute Card Thursday (new- previously un-inked stamp), The Diedrich Dare colour inspiration, ABC Challenge (L is for Layering) and Etsy Inspired (Skylar's Candy Clips- for this clip here).

My second card uses one of the cute Miss Anya Dressy stamps from The Greeting Farm.

Miss Anya was die cut with a Nestie using the pull out technique.  The lace doily punch is from Martha Stewart.  For this challenge I used the current sketch over at Mercy's blog.  I am also entering this into a couple of other challenges, including Belli Challenge #82 Glitter or Rhinestones, A Spoon Full of Sugar (hearts), Incy Wincy Designs bling it up challenge, and Everybody-Art's favorite color combo, which I'm sure you can tell by these 2 cards, is red & pink!  :)

Ooh, and if you made it this far through my post, I shouldn't forget my blog candy, should I?  I am giving away a brand new Sugar Nellie Blossom stamp as seen here.

All you need to do is 1.  become a follower (unless you already are, of course!) and 2. leave a comment on this post.  I will draw a winner on January 17th, to celebrate the launch of our Paper Sundaes Challenge blog.  The winner will have 3 days to contact me, or I will have to redraw!

For the next stop on our blog hop, you need to head over to my wonderful friend Shana and leave her lots of love, she always makes beautiful cards!  If you get lost along the way, you should head back to Paper Sundaes to see the master list.

I hope you can join us for our first challenge, starting January 17th!

One last card for the season :)

I missed one family on my Christmas list this year, and at this point, there's no use sending a Christmas one, so they are getting a New Year's card!  I used Nora from CC Designs at All That Scraps, she is so cute!

Here is my card:

I am entering this card into the challenge ending today at All That Scraps Challenge Blog.

I hope everyone is having a great week!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Oh, keep your eyes open here, there might be more blog candy coming!  ;)

WOJ challenge 60

Good morning!  Is anyone else celebrating the first day back to school after Christmas holidays?  The house is so peaceful!  I can even get on the computer, it's a miracle!

Today I have a card that has been in the works for a while.  I colored the image weeks ago, but never got around to making a card with it.  I decided to pull it out for the current sketch challenge over at the Whiff of Joy challenge blog, as an advance reward for taking down the tree by myself this afternoon.  I used one of my favorite images from Whiff of Joy, Willow Holding Baby, and cropped her a bit to fit in my oval.

I did not use a sentiment on this card, since I thought that it could be used for a couple different occasions.  It could be used as a new baby card, or a first Mother's Day card.  the papers are My Mind's Eye, and the image is colored with Prismacolor pencils.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Whiff of Joy sketch challenge #60
Stampin' for the Weekend:  new beginnings
Cupcake Craft Challenges:  A Baby Card
Charisma Cardz:  Celebrations
Paperplay Challenges:  New Beginning
Creative Card Crew:  Anything goes
Hope Stamps Eternal:  cupcake inspiration challenge

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

2 blog candies!

I just wanted to give my followers a heads up about 2 new blog candy giveaways going on right now.

Carla has a new blog candy to celebrate the start of our new Challenge blog, Paper Sundaes.  She is giving away 2 stamps of your choice!  Visit her blog and check it out!

Over at Quixotic Paperie, there is a blog candy ending on January 5th, to celebrate the New Year!  They are giving away a wonderful Mystery Prize Pack!  Wouldn't you love to know what's in it??  As part of their candy you have to post your favorite card from 2009.  What a tough choice!  So here are 2 of my favorites from this year:

It was fun looking back at my cards over the last year!

Good luck, everyone!

Tilda with pockets from Winter Kit

First post of the New Year!

I hope everyone had a great New Year's!  We had a quiet night at home, played some games, and I managed to sneak on the computer long enough to put up a new background and banner on my blog :)

I had hoped to start New Year's Day with a card for my blog, but family time came first.  So here is my first card of the year:

I apologize for the terrible lighting!!  The watercolor paper is actually more of a cream, and the background a white, but this was the best color correction I could get tonight.

For this card, I used my favorite stamp out of the Magnolia Winter & Christmas kit 2009.  Until they release her as a single, I won't have a name for her.  (Edited to add, her name is Sweet Tilda, how appropriate!)  I also used some new Bo Bunny paper from our local scrapbook store.  Tilda was stamped onto watercolor paper with Versafine and then colored with distress inks, only my second time using them, but I love them!!  The sparkly ribbon is from a local fabric store.

For this card, I used the current colour combo at Embellish Magazine (Red, pink and Black with hearts), and the current sketch at The Diedrich Dare.  At Creative Card Crew, the current challenge is 'anything goes', which this definitely qualifies for :D.  I am also entering this into the current challenge over at Roses on Paper to use your favorite coloring medium (My new distress inks are already my favorites!!)  Over at Etsy Inspired, they are featuring a wonderful shop with super cute pillows, and I used the pillow here for inspiration.  Lastly I am entering this card into the 'New' challenge over at Fussy and Fancy, for the use of my new papers, brads, stamp and distress inks, and also the 'New' challenge at Stamp Something.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!!
