Anything but a card? LOL

Don't forget to enter my blog candy here

Today instead of a card, I made a pumpkin :D

A Tilda Pumpkin!  Here is my Sitting Witch Tilda:

Unfortunately, time was very tight, so I only had about half an hour.  If I'd had more time, I could have done a better job.  The broom definitely needed more time (so I could have carved in the straw details).

And a close-up:

Let me know if you think she looks like Tilda or not!

I am entering this into the new 'halloween project' challenge over at Caardvarks :)

I hope everyone is having a fun halloween!!

Blog Candy!

Blog Candy is now closed.  Draw will be later today!

I have been having a bit of good luck lately, so I want to share the wealth.  I am still gathering stuff for my blog candy but I am going to open it up right now to any visitors to my site.

What will my candy include?

A variety of 50 stamped images done on 1/4's, in Momento, on Lynx Opaque white cs
some ribbon, flowers, papers and pearls.

If you would like to enter my blog candy you must:

1.  Sign up as a visible follower!
2.  Please post my blog candy on your blog, either in a post or in your sidebar.
3.  Leave a comment on this post.
4.  For every 10 new followers, I will add more candy, too!

It would help if I include a closing date, wouldn't it?
I will have the draw on Saturday, Nov. 21.

Here is a photo!  Please note that this is only part of the images! (An assortment of Elzybells, Motivet, High Hopes, Whipper Snapper, Stamping Bella etc!)

I have edited this post to extend it from Wednesday Nov. 18 to Saturday, Nov. 21.  Sorry for the inconvenience!

Mojo Monday week 110

Read about my blog candy here:  Christine's Blog Candy

Good morning everyone!  The snow is falling outside right now, and it feels like it's time to turn on the Christmas music!

Today I followed the current sketch over at Mojo Monday, and now have another Christmas card for my stash!  If only my Christmas shopping was going as fast... or at all...

Here is my card:

I used some more My Mind's Eye paper for this, and a cute Elzybells stamp from their Cold Nose, Warm Hearts stamp set.  The cardstock is PTI.  The trim on the hat, coat, post, and snow are all done in flocking, hard to see, sorry!

This card also qualifies for the current challenge over at Crazy For Challenges, to use at least 3 geometric shapes.  In this case, I have the square card, circle image and rectangle paper strips.

Over at Winter Wonderland, the current challenge is to make any Christmas card.  I have so many Christmas stamps, I would have no excuse not to participate in this challenge!

I hope you all have a great day!  Let me know what you think, and come back to visit again tomorrow!

CPS card sketch challenge

Read about my blog candy here:  Christine's Blog Candy

Hi everyone!  I hope you are all having a great day!

Today I have a card for the current CPS sketch challenge.  I really wanted to keep this card clean and simple, so I resisted all temptation to dress it up :)

I used some new ribbon that I found yesterday, at our local scrapbook store.  The image is by StampingBella.

Materials:
Stamps- Flowahbella by StampingBella, sentiment by Elzybells
Paper- My Mind's Eye
Medium- Prismacolors & OMS

Beware!

Over at the Diedrich Dare, there is a challenge right now to make a pirate card.  I was sadly lacking in pirate stamps, but luckily my friend Shana came to play yesterday and brought me a pirate image!  Thanks, Shana!  The skull paper is actually halloween paper but seemed perfect for this!  The map was printed from clipart.

Paper:  DP- My Mind's Eye, CS- PTI
Image- Changito
Medium- Prismacolors with OMS

Motivet win!

Wow!  Wow, wow, wow!

I won a draw over at Motivet's blog, for my choice of 5 images!  I can't believe it, I love their stamps sooo much!  Check out their stamps in their shop here.

I would post an image of one of the stamps I chose so you could see just how adorable they are, but they might not like me posting their image, so if you want, you can go see it here

Thank you, Motivet!  You made my day!

Birthday Wishes

Today I decided to tackle a couple Magnolia challenges.  Over at Just Magnolia, there is a sketch challenge which I followed for my card.

At the Stamp Shoppe there is a 'pink' challenge this month, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  What a great cause!  And this card definitely has pink :)

Over at Magnolia Down Under, there is a challenge to use distressing.  I distressed all the edges of my layers, and the flowers are all torn.

Stamp:  Magnolia- Tilda With Flower Jeans
Paper: My Mind's Eye- Penny Lane
Misc.:  Buttons- American Crafts

I won at Kimmie's!

I won the last challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie's blog, can you believe it?!  Thank goodness for random draws, right?!  LOL

When my son saw the prize, which is Posy, he came up with an interesting idea for a good card to make with her, so once I get her, I will give it a try and see if I can do justice to his idea.  I'll post it here when it's done :)

Thanks Kimmie for the fun challenge... can't wait to tackle this week's!

Meet Me Under The Mistletoe!

Read about my blog candy here:  Christine's Blog Candy

Hi everyone!  Today I used the current sketch challenge over at the Sugar Bowl and made my husband's Christmas card! I'm definitely ahead of the game this year... usually I do everyone else's first, and then run out of time and he doesn't get one!  LOL...  To top it all off, I made him do the photography and editing for me... I told him not to look while he did it ;)

I am in love with this Mistletoe image by Sugar Nellie!  The sentiment is my own, done on the computer, I thought was perfect for my dear hubby!

Witch Way to the Candy?

I made this card using the current sketch challenge over at the Diedrich Dare.  All of these sketch challenges are helping me take care of a bunch of cards I needed to make!  I also followed the 'witch' cupcake inspiration challenge over at Hope Stamps Eternal.

Over at Cupcake Craft Challenges, the current challenge is 'Things that go bump in the night', which includes witches in their list :)

Over at Copic Creations blog, the current challenge is 'Black'.  With this card I experimented with using both Copic greys and Prismacolor greys together.  I still need to work on my copic blending!!

This also fits the halloween based challenges at Cute Card Thursday, Everybody Art Challenge and Corrosive Challenge blog.

Haunted!

This halloween card uses an adorable zombie from Papermakeup stamps!  I used the current sketch over at Card Positioning Systems.  It is also a tall card, which is the current challenge over at Caardvarks.

I raided my halloween folder for the papers and quote, and embossed the spiders onto the grey cardstock.  The zombie is colored with grey copics (it's pretty faint in the photo, sorry!).  The theme over at Cute Card Thursday is Spook Fest, and the current challenge at The Corrosive Challenge Blog, the theme is Spooky Times, or Black and Orange, which this fits both!

Lastly, the theme over at Everybody Art Challenge blog is Halloween this week!

No time to craft today!

I just thought I would share what kept me busy all day today, instead of crafting!

First I made a massive batch of chili, and a massive batch of spaghetti sauce...

Instead of slaving over a stove frying meat all day, I threw the meat and vegies into the top and bottom of my largest roaster (after making sure they would both fit at the same time, thank goodness for my over-sized convection oven!!) and stirred every 20 minutes until the meat was done.
Then I added the rest of the ingredients and continued cooking until I was satisfied... No tried or true method yet.

(Chili on left, spaghetti sauce on right)

After I was done all that, I made a double batch of banana bread...

And a massive batch of muffins...

(This is just one tray of them!)

And cleaned the kitchen after each of them, did two loads of laundry, and cleaned the fridge out (had to make room for the chili and spaghetti sauce so they can cool over night!)  Now I get to sit and have a muffin, then fold the last of the laundry.  Doesn't that sound like a fun day?!  lol...

Making a card would have been more fun!

Stampavie Challenge #14- A Box!

Over at Stampavie there is a challenge (ending tonight!) to make a box... I started this a few days back, and just realised tonight that it ends in a couple hours, so I'd better get it posted!

I used a cute Sarah Kay image, A Kiss for Chloe.  Ribbon and Cord are Stampin' Up, and the paper is one of my favorites by October Afternoon.  I'm going to hate it when my stash of this paper is gone!  Cardstock is PTI (kraft) and SU(brown).  This paper seemed well suited for the current challenge over at Color Throwdown.

The layout is from the current challenge over at Friday Sketchers.

Spring Magnolia

I finally finished this card this afternoon, and had my husband do the photography for once, so the pictures should be much better!  I combined the 2 magnolia challenges, Just Magnolia and Magnolia-licious, for this card.  Just Magnolia's challenge was to make a 'bright & Zingy card' and Magnolia-licious is to make an easel card.  This is my second try at the easel cards!

This card has tons of dimension... Tilda is popped up with foam, as well as the flower and tag.  The buttons had to be raised up to hold the top of the easel up, so it is raised up with 3D glue dots.

I coloured the images with prismacolor pencils, and outlined with a grey copic marker.

I then cut out both images, curled the flowers out on the tree a bit, and mounted them both onto the white background with the sky and grass already coloured in.

This card definitely should qualify for the 'Pink' challenge over at the Little Stamp Shoppe!  I just love the soft pink tones of her dress!

The profusion of buttons also counts towards Kraftin' Kimmies challenge to use buttons on your cards.

Lastly, over at Everybody-Art's blog, Challenge #61 is to use punches or shapes on your card.  My flowers were punched with EK Success Retro Flower punches!  The tag was done on my cricut.

Image:  Magnolia- Tilda Picking Lilacs, Spring Tree
Paper:  My Mind's Eye Dreamy 2, Gina K Pure Luxury
Buttons:  American Crafts
Misc:  Ribbon (unknown), Flowersoft, cricut, EK Success Retro flower punch
Medium:  Prismacolors with OMS

Hip Hippo Ray it's a boy!

Over at Whiff of Joy, one of their designers is having a baby boy and they are flooding her with cards.  This is the card I made for her.  You can read all about it over at Katharina's blog.

I used the layout from the current challenge over at Card Positioning Systems.  It's definitely a clean layout!  I was tempted to add to it a bit, but was over-ruled by my daughter, who declared it to be great just the way it is :)  I'll take what I can get, and leave it at that lol...

I hand stitched all around the nesties label 1 embossing.  At Cupcake Craft Challenges there is a challenge to use buttons and stitching, so this should qualify for that, too.

Lastly, over at Doodle Palace, their current challenge is to make a Celebration card, which the birth of a new baby definitely qualifies for!

Hoppy Birthday

This card was inspired by the cupcake inspiration challenge over at The Diedrich Dare.

The challenge was a frog cupcake inspiration piece.

The layout is from the sketch challenge at Artful Inkables.  A nice and clean layout, just my style :)

Also, over at Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner there is a challenge to make a birthday card, so this also works for that one.

Paper Makeup Stamps Release Challenge #2

I switched to my smaller camera today, and I'm curious to see if the colours are better with this one, the other one was washing out the brightness.  The photo with redder tones is an Olympus camera, and bottom photo is a Kodak.

Today I have a card for the second challenge over at Papermakeup.

The layout is from Shirley's 2 Girls here.

The stamp is by Paper Makeup Stamps.  They have the best quotes!

Materials used:
Paper:  DP- October afternoon, CS- PTI

I am also entering this into the challenge over at Artful Inkables.  Their current challenge is to include something sparkly, which I have on her wings!

My goal was for a peaceful card, and overall, I'm happy with how it turned out.

Witchy Wendy PMS

Today I received my blog candy win from Paper Makeup Stamps- 5 super cute stamps that I am going to put to good use.  I immediately inked them up and made a card for several challenges tonight.

This card layout is from the current sketch challenge at Mojo Monday

The theme over at A Spoon Full of Sugar this week is Halloween.  Perfect timing for these stamps!

Over at Hope Stamps Eternal, the cupcake inspiration challenge #27 is based on a cupcake with purple, orange and black.

At The Pink Elephant there is a color challenge featuring purple, orange, black and white.

And last but not least, there is a challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges to incorporate stitching into your card (something I never do!).

Supplies:  Witchy Wendy from Paper Makeup Stamps
Paper: DP- Karen Foster, American Crafts (orange)  CS- Papertreyink
Accessories: buttons- pink hedgehog, DMC thread
Medium: Prismacolors, OMS

Non-traditional Christmas

Today I have a non-traditional Christmas card.  It could easily be altered to be a card for anything.  The paper is my favorite teal-ish shade of blue green.  Her shirt is actually light teal as well, it just didn't show up well in my photo.  This stamp is from The Little Paper Shop, they have a blog challenge right now to make a non-traditional Christmas card here.

The layout is from a sketch challenge over at CPS's blog.

Materials:
Stamp- Birthday Surprise  from the Little Paper Shop
Paper- DP by Harmonie, CS from Bazzill
Ribbon- PTI
Medium- Prismacolors & OMS

Supplies:
Stamp- Felix Ketto from Stampingbella
Paper- My Mind's Eye
other- flowers (prima) buttons (pinkhedgehog and American Crafts), ribbon (unknown)

3 in 1 challenge

Tonight I was a woman on a mission.  I needed a going away card, and I needed it fast!  I decided to try to make the easel card from Magnolia-licious's October sketch challenge.  I think it turned out pretty good considering I did no preplanning or shopping!  If I do say so myself!  LOL

I also made the flower from the flower challenge over at Just Magnolia.  I used my cricut to cut several different sizes of a flower and then inked and curled the edges just like in their tutorial.

I also used the pink color scheme for the challenge over at the Little Stamp Shoppe blog.

Thanks for visiting!!
