A Valentine for My Daughter

OK, I admit it, this card gave me fits!  First I decided the image wasn't quite right, then the papers... in other words, I started over from scratch!  LOL... But in the end, I am thrilled with how it turned out!

If only I could find nail polish in that button's shade of Robin's egg blue!  :)

Here is a close-up:

I even did up the inside!    (warning, bad photo ahead!)

And it only took me 2 days of cutting, painting, and starting all over again from scratch!  :D

I'd love to hear what you think, after all that angst!

I am entering this into a few challenges:  The layout is from the current sketch challenge at Roses On Paper.  At Ilona's Shop Blog, the current challenge is Love and Hearts.  At Just Magnolia, the challenge is to use flowers and hearts.  At Color Throwdown, the color challenge this week is Soft Sky, Pink Pirhouette and Kraft.  Finally, the challenge at Magnolia Stamp Lovers is Buttons or Bows or Both.

I have another card for later this morning, I hope you'll come back!

Paper Sundaes Challenge #3

Today is the start of Paper Sundaes Challenge #3.  The challenge is Valentine's.  This week Paper Sundaes is sponsored by PaperWorks Co, who provided our design team with some super cute stamps from Little Loud Stamps' Freckle Love Collection.  I was very impressed with the quality of these stamps.  They come pre-mounted and pre-cut on cling mount, and are made of very deeply etched red rubber.  They stamp beautifully!  Each stamp also comes with a matching sentiment.

My card today features Charlotte's Valentine.  She is colored with copics that a friend kindly let me play with this week.  I feel a big purchase in my near future!  :)

I really wanted to keep this card clean and simple, with no embellishments.  My daughter did NOT approve, lol...

The 'Happy' stamp on the kraft paper is from The Scenic Route, that I had in my stash, uninked.  It was stamped with ColorBox liquid chalk.  Charlotte was cut out with the Petite Scallop Nestabilities, and the sentiment with the long scalloped rectangle.  PaperWorks Co is a Canadian company, so prices are CAD, however if you prefer to pay in USD you can contact Peggy and she can accomodate you.

Peggy has generously provided Paper Sundaes with a $25 gift certificate to the winner of our Valentine's challenge, so I hope you will join us!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly- sketch
Caardvarks- hearts
Fussy and Fancy- hearts
Lexi's Creations- Valentine's
Corrosive Challenges by Janet- All you need is love

Have a Magical Day!

This past weekend, an online friend, Jenny, came up to visit myself and a good friend of mine, Shana.  She brought with her, her massive collection of stamps!  It would have taken me a week to make a dent in stamping her collection!  I did stamp a few of her Sweet Pea stamps, including this one called 'It's My birthday'.  These stamps are gorgeous, and so different from anything I own!  I coloured her while visiting my friend Shana, using her copic markers.  This was only my second attempt using them, but I do like them!

The layout is from the current sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.  Hopefully on the closeup shot, you can see all of her glitter :)

I know that most people seem to color that piece by her face as an ear and hair, but I saw it as a piece of plant or seaweed :)

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Cute Card Thursday- Fairy Fantastic
Charisma Cardz- Fruity Colors
Raise the Bar Challenge- The gift that keeps giving (RAK image from Jenny)
Flutterby Wednesday #64- butterfly, fairy, or angel
A Spoon Full of Sugar- freestyle
